Life grows ever more complex. We have less and less time. We find it more and more difficult to pay full attention to anything. We rush. We don't take things in.
We wish to rescue ourselves from this complexity and haste. We crave simplicity, and directness. We want to slow down and create space in our lives.
Less input can give us more wisdom. And so I write this series of impressions. Each short episode conveys a simple point of spiritual wisdom, in clear and concise language. You can treat them each as a "thought for the day", a simple focus, an inspiration, something to hold on to, and to guide you, in the whirlwind of modern life.

These are a collection of Fables adapted from AesopsFables.com.
A fable is a short, realistic tale, which seeks to teach us some moral or virtue, and thus improve our conduct. This advice is cloaked in the interactions of animals of the field, birds of the air, trees of the wood, and beasts of the forest, so that we do not notice the presence of the adviser.
The lesson of the fable is thus easy to accept, as we are spared the superiority of the counselor. It is easy to accept a lesson when, unconsciously, our sympathies are enlisted for the pure, honorable, and praiseworthy, and our indignation is raised against what is low, ignoble, and unworthy.

why are we here?

'Oh, that person owns property and has material comfort, they are OK therefore'.
Is this how we generally value life? Is this why we are here? For material reasons? How bent, How crooked.
I would say that we are here in order to interact with other spiritual beings. Love, family, friends and acquaintances, everyone my spiritual brother. I don't see any materialism in this basic simple truth of life, so where does this contravening grating screeching nails down a blackboard twisted consciousness come from?
The number one form of materialism is to think of ourselves as bodies, so it is hardly surprising that materialism rules OK. ....(more)

The "tree of life" is more or less dead. The tree of religions barely puts out any leaves any more when spring comes, stands very tall, and is rotten to the core and ready to fall over any storm now.
I would say, 'pass me the woodcutter's axe and I will gladly take it down', but that may be interfering with nature, something which only corporate types and secret societies are allowed to do, still, if there is the need........
The thing is, when the old diseased thing topples, it is going to take out a lot of new and growing life whichever way it falls. Life which is more deserving of the light and space than the old rigid institution ravaged structure. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall" and so the higher up the tree, the more they will feel it. ....(more)

Yes, here I am again, giving it away for free while others keep it to themselves and sell it in book form. I am talking about "spiritual" types. A slave to humanity with no rewards, and I may not be the only one who feels that way. Locked in a frustrated niche in a world which contains little which is worth fighting for anyway, at least compared to what is coming and what is possible.
So, the world is designed to make us serious adults who worry about children, money, homes, jobs and cars. What nonsense, it really is. Fabricated lies to cause fear and stress, illness and unhappiness, it must stop, it really must.
If we observe children and how they play, each spontaneous action followed by another in a carefree manner, they have no interest in money, bills, mortgages and cars, their position at work or class at school, they just want to play, create in an innocent way, BE HAPPY. 'Oh but you have not lived unless you have had it hard' and other lies do the rounds.

I am not creating this thread for people to write their or others "conspiracy theories", the aim is more towards discussing this whole thing of "conspiracy theories" and what is going on with it. People are being labeled "conspiracy theorists", what is this?
Just before 9/11, George Bush said something like 'we will not tolerate conspiracy theories'. Since, it may be that, people who wish to know more about the world in which they live, have been are being, and will be persecuted by others who feel they have the authority to do so.
Do we shoot the post man for delivering the phone bill? Do we rebel against the teacher for teaching us to read and write as it will then lead to us having to sit exams? Do we choose to blind rather than see after having being bind all of our lives?
So, Come on you people who destroy the lives of those who simply want to understand and those who want to spread understanding than living a lie, someone else's lie. Tell us why you are doing it. Have you been ....(more)

The title suggests conflict, so we are off on the wrong foot already.
The consciousness of people, souls is slowly/ quickly rising, this is evolution, we are also in times of creation, or, re creation. So why are there so many ignorant people around in the world causing S.O.? (soul odour)
Was it evolution week just there or something? I seem to have been getting it in the neck from meat eating evolutionists who for some reason are frightened and aggressive. Nothing to do with eating meat I presume.
If they are so sure about their religion, that of "evolution", why do they fear so much? Religion means way of life, so their way of life is fear and aggression, arrogance and ignorance. Surely no matter what, their religion will still be at the top of the pile of league of religions come the time, so why are they frightened and aggressive? Don't they have any faith in their religion which is obviously RIGHT! ....(more)

What is a leader? When I speak to many people, they scoff at the idea of any kind of leadership at all, a reaction no doubt to the current version of leadership going on around us, if we can call it leadership.
First of all, surely it is not the question of leadership, but where leaders are leading those that they are leading. To be honest, I don't see any leadership in the world, I see bullying and manipulation, which suggests very weak leaders.
Is the farmer the leader of the herd of cattle, or the shepherd the leader of the herd of sheep? The leader, as far as the herd is concerned, will be one of their own. The farmer is a bully, a manipulator, a murderer even who runs a prison, in my opinion.
Then there is the question of society and whether it can run in a harmonious way without any STRUCTURE whatsoever. Could this forum have been created, and the software that it runs on, without leadership and structure of some kind? Such things can be achieved without fascist intent and bul ....(more)

why do we take life so seriously?

The question speaks for itself. Are we obliged to take life so seriously that it causes mental stress, problems in our relationships, physical illness, fear of this and that, is it possible to have certain issues in our lives yet remain free from the anxiety of it all?
Spiritual commentators may tell us that it is OUR fault and that we should not blame the leaders for it, I would disagree. They are having such an impact on peoples lives that it cannot be ignored completely. If things are not working, we look to those at the top. A change of leadership in the world would make a huge huge difference.
Yet it is WE who remain responsible for our thoughts words and actions at any given moment, and so we need to address the issues there either way. We are not achieving anything with negativity towards self and others, which ever way we look at it.
Some people go around with the world on their shoulders as if responsible, if they let go, the world will fall apart, perhaps part of the cont ....(more)

I want to be a Guru

I want to be a Guru.
There is something rather disturbing about this phrase, to my ears at least. Perhaps more for westerners. In other parts, India in particular, it is part of the culture.
Can someone simply say, I want to be a Guru, then go and train as one? Yes and no perhaps.
These days the term is applied to many areas of life, we have life style gurus, industry gurus and gurus of all walks of life. ....(more)
